About the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group

Parenting is hard enough the first time, and stepping back into the role as a grandparent raising your grandchildren can bring unique joys—and profound challenges. If you’re feeling isolated, overwhelmed, or even struggling with guilt or uncertainty, know that you’re not alone. This support group is a safe, welcoming space to share your journey with others who truly understand.

Every Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., join us virtually for a warm cup of coffee or tea, meaningful conversations, and genuine connection. Together, we’ll navigate the complexities of raising the next generation, providing you with tools, support, and understanding as you juggle caregiving responsibilities and your own needs.

Why Join This Group?

You might be asking yourself, “Why do I need a support group?”

  • Because you deserve support. The weight of caregiving doesn’t need to fall solely on your shoulders.

  • Because you’re not alone. Many grandparents share the same worries—“Am I doing this right?” “Am I too old for this?” “What if I fail them?”—and together, we’ll unpack these fears and offer reassurance.

  • Because community matters. Isolation can be one of the hardest parts of this journey. In this group, you’ll find a network of understanding, compassionate peers.

Meet the Facilitator: Holly McGee, LICSW

Holly McGee is a licensed clinical social worker with years of experience supporting families in transition. Her expertise lies in helping individuals and families navigate complex dynamics, with a focus on child development, trauma recovery, and building resilience. Holly’s compassionate, solution-focused approach creates a space where every grandparent feels seen, heard, and empowered.

Holly understands the emotional toll of caregiving, especially when stepping into the role unexpectedly. With her guidance, you’ll find not just practical tools, but emotional healing and encouragement.
